POSTDATA main researcher, LINHD founder and General Manager of Europe at CoverWallet, Elena González-Blanco, has been awarded the prestigious “Julián Marías” 2017 prize, in the category of “researchers under 40 years”.
The Research Awards of the Community of Madrid “Julián Marías” aim to recognize the scientific activity, as well as the scientific and humanistic values developed by researchers of less than forty years. They are convened annually in the two areas, Sciences and Humanities.

Specialist in the field of language technology, Elena González-Blanco leads POSTDATA, a European H2020 ERC research project on poetry and semantic web, with a budget of more than one million euros. She has been the director and founder of the first Laboratory of Innovation in Digital Humanities in Spanish: www.linhd.es, President of the Association of Hispanic Digital Humanities, and Secretary of the Alliance for Digital Humanities Organizations. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the European Association for Digital Humanities, the Centernet Committee for DH centers, Scientific Advisory Board of the European research infrastructure in linguistic technology www.clarin.eu, and the steering committee of Global Outlook: Digital Humanities . She has a PhD in Hispanic Philology with an Extraordinary Award and 1st National Award for a Degree in Hispanic Philology and Classical Philology. Master in Digital Libraries at UC3M, she has been a professor and researcher at Harvard University (2 years as a Teaching Assistant), King’s College, UNAM and Bonn. She speaks English, French, German and Italian and is the mother of 4 children. She has also been chosen as one of the “Top100 Women Leaders in Spain” (www.lastop100.com) in the last two editions 2016 and 2017.
