UNED has organised on 29th of June at LINHD the launching event of the Poetry Standardization and Linked Open Data [POSTDATA] Project, a groundbreaking initiative seeking to unify poetical analysis between cultures and existing research databases by using web semantic technology.
We invite you to watch the recorded presentations on the UNED Channel, by accessing the following link: POSTDATA
Presenters:
- Professor Pablo Gómez, Vicerrector Adjunto de Investigación – UNED
- Mrs. Adela Ruiz Caabeiro, Project Officer – European Research Council Executive Agency
- Dr. Elena González-Blanco García, Dpto. de Literatura Española y Teoría de la Literatura – LINHD
- Mrs. Mara Manailescu, Project Manager – POSTDATA
The event was oriented to offer researchers, scholars and public an excellent opportunity to find out how the links of different traditions and centuries of history may be transformed into a powerful digital humanities environment.
As it was pointed out by Dr. Elena González Blanco García, poetry represents a particular case for scientific research due to the different evolution paths and methods of classification across cultures. In response, the project will apply many of the existing technologies to this field in order to offer a collaborative and open virtual environment for different kinds of users.
The project is funded by the ERC – Horizon 2020 and it will be implemented during a period of five years at LINHD (Laboratorio de Innovación en Humanidades Digitales – Digital Humanities Innovation Lab) at UNED. As stated by Mrs Adela Ruiz ERC Officer, the European Union through ERC Start Grants is funding revolutionary and groundbreaking ideas that go beyond traditional research fields. This is the case of POSTDATA; the first ERC project awarded to UNED.
